Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Cecil Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, after receiving a report concerning the death of a 12-year-old child. When officers arrived, the circumstances surrounding the child’s death were initially unclear, and the body was transported to the Regional Forensic Center for an autopsy and further examination.
Preliminary autopsy findings determined that the child suffered fatal internal injuries caused by blunt force trauma.
