Geimisha Broadnax, Alaya Maez, And Jo’Von Hopper Obituary, South Bend Shooting Update — A shooting on South Bend’s northeast side is now being investigated as a triple homicide after a third victim died from her injuries.

The shooting happened at approximately 11:25 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Bissell Street. Authorities identified the victims as 22-year-old Geimisha Broadnax, 20-year-old Alaya Maez and 18-year-old Jo’Von Hopper.

Broadnax died from her injuries the following day, according to the update. Maez and Hopper also died in connection with the shooting, bringing the confirmed death toll to three.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the incident.

Investigators believe there may be people who witnessed the shooting or have information that could assist with the investigation. Those individuals are being urged to come forward with any information they may have.
