MARIN COUNTY, Calif. — Marin County firefighters responded to a vegetation fire north of Rodeo Beach along the Coastal Trail after dispatchers received reports of smoke and flames at approximately 12:23 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters located the vegetation fire and determined that no structures were threatened. Multiple agencies responded to the incident as crews worked to contain the fire and prevent further spread.
The response included two fire crews, four Type 3 wildland fire engines, two water tenders, three helicopters, one air attack aircraft and two air tankers. Officials said the response involved approximately 70 first responders.
Forward progress of the fire was stopped at approximately 1:45 p.m. Fire crews remained in the area afterward to continue monitoring conditions and complete necessary work. Residents and visitors were urged to use caution near the incident area while emergency personnel remained on scene.
Responding agencies included the Marin County Fire Department, National Park Service, Southern Marin Fire Protection District, Tiburon Fire Protection District, Central Marin Fire Department, and CAL FIRE’s Santa Clara and Sonoma-Lake-Napa Units. PG&E also supported the response, including the use of Helicopter 6PG.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials said additional information would be released as it becomes available. No information was provided indicating that structures were damaged or that injuries occurred.
Officials described the incident as a reminder that wildfire season remains active and encouraged residents to stay prepared.
