Rhoda Patton Obituary: Newry – Beloved Wife and Mother Remembered Following Peaceful Passing

Rhoda Patton Obituary, NEWRY, Northern Ireland — Mrs. Rhoda Patton née Hughes of 23 Main Avenue, Derrybeg, Newry, has passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family while receiving care from the dedicated staff at Daisy Hill Hospital.

Rhoda was the dearly beloved wife of John and a deeply devoted mother to Damian and Ronan (Síghileo). She was also a loving grandmother to Vicky, Ashlynn and Rachael, and was cherished by her family and those who knew her.

She was a beloved sister to Tony and Danny, and sister of the late Kevin, Francie and Pat, who are also remembered in the family notice. Rhoda was also a dear sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many.

Her passing has been deeply felt by her family circle, neighbours and close friends, who will remember her with affection and respect. The family has expressed their gratitude to the staff of Daisy Hill Hospital for the care provided to Rhoda during her final days.

Rhoda’s remains will repose at Mallon’s Funeral Home on Mill Road, Bessbrook, BT35 7DT, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both Sunday and Monday, allowing family, friends and members of the community to pay their respects.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Brigid’s Church, The Meadow, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1. Following the Mass, Rhoda will be laid to rest at Monkshill Cemetery.

Rhoda Patton will be deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, neighbours and close friends. The family has entrusted her memory to those who knew and loved her, with the words, “St Martin de Porres pray for her, may her gentle soul rest in peace.” Our condolences are extended to the Patton and Hughes families at this time of loss.
