Middletown police responded Tuesday afternoon to a residence in the city’s West Lake section to investigate a suspicious death. According to authorities, Brown had suffered a gunshot wound and other injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives with the Middletown Police Department’s Investigative Services Division identified Barrington Oneil Brown Jr., 43, as a suspect in connection with Canaa Brown’s death and developed probable cause for his arrest. Police later tracked his vehicle as the investigation continued.
