Wesley Perdue Obituary, MANSFIELD, Ohio — Wesley Perdue, 27, of Mansfield, Ohio, was killed Tuesday night, August 25, after his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a roadside sign in Madison Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The fatal motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 11:27 p.m. on South Trimble Road near West Cook Road. Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Mansfield Post responded to the area following reports of a motorcycle crash involving Perdue.
According to the preliminary investigation, Perdue was traveling southbound on South Trimble Road on a 2009 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic when he encountered a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle subsequently traveled off the right side of the road and struck a roadside sign.
Perdue sustained serious injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances that caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway.
Officials have also not determined whether speed, weather conditions, impairment or another factor contributed to the crash. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation as authorities continue working to establish what happened before the motorcycle left the roadway.
Several agencies assisted state troopers and emergency personnel at the crash scene, including the Mansfield Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Mansfield Fire Department, Madison Fire Department, Mansfield Street Department, Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and Ronk’s Towing.
The investigation into the fatal motorcycle crash remains active with the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Mansfield Post. Additional information may be released as investigators continue examining the circumstances of the collision.
