Kelvin J. “Kelly” Cooper Obituary, PICTURE ROCKS, Pa. — Kelvin J. “Kelly” Cooper, 74, of Picture Rocks, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 28, 2026, at UPMC Williamsport.

Born June 3, 1952, in Berwick, Kelly was the son of the late Edward L. Cooper Sr. and Rosaline (Tavares) Lakis. He graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1971 and later honorably served in the United States Air Force.

Kelly was also a self-employed businessman and the owner of Kelly Cooper, Inc., Tru-Leaf Camouflage and Kelly Kallers Game Calls. Through his work and interests, he developed a lasting connection to the outdoors and to the hunting and fishing communities.

An accomplished turkey caller, Kelly traveled throughout the United States and won more than 100 turkey calling championships, including state, national, Masters and World competitions. He also designed and patented the Tru-Leaf Camo pattern. Beyond his accomplishments, he took pride in mentoring hunters and fly fishermen of all ages.

Family was an important part of Kelly’s life. He and his wife, Jill D. Bigger, married on April 5, 1975, and celebrated 51 years of marriage. He especially cherished time with his three sons and grandchildren, supporting them at sporting events and sharing his love of hunting and fishing with them.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Jill; three sons, Chad and Gena Cooper of West Chester, Cory and Kristen Cooper of Muncy, and Matthew Cooper and Tony Puccio of Clearfield; four grandchildren, Cruz and Hartley Cooper of West Chester and Gage and Chloe Cooper of Muncy; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026, at Hughesville Funeral Home, 5069 Route 220 Highway, Hughesville. In lieu of flowers, the family notes that Kelly would have encouraged people to mentor young people through hunting, fishing or baseball. Donations may also be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Wilmington, Delaware, in honor of Cruz Cooper. Kelly Cooper’s memory will continue through his family, his outdoor legacy and the many people he mentored throughout his life.
