A native of Sioux Falls, Riley was preparing for her senior season at Saint Mary’s University, where she was studying Sports Management and Accounting. Her passing has left teammates, friends and members of the hockey community mourning the loss of a young athlete whose life was closely connected to the sport she loved.
Riley had already made her mark in Sioux Falls hockey before attending Saint Mary’s. In 2022, she helped the Sioux Falls Flyers win a state championship, adding a significant achievement to her hockey career.
