Alesha Brown Obituary, CARY, N.C. — The Cary Police Department is mourning the unexpected death of Detective Corporal Alesha Brown, a 17-year veteran of the department who passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The department announced Brown’s passing while honoring her years of service to the Cary community. Her death has left fellow officers and members of the Cary Police Department family grieving the loss of a longtime colleague.
Brown served with the Cary Police Department for more than 17 years, dedicating her career to serving the citizens of Cary. During her years with the department, she became a valued member of the organization and the broader community.
Police Chief Terry Sult remembered Brown for the lasting impression she made on those around her. “To know Alesha was to cherish her,” Sult said, describing her as a force of nature whose energy, humor and compassion touched people throughout the department and community.
Sult also highlighted Brown’s dedication during her more than 17 years of service, saying she brought “laughter and light” wherever she went while serving the citizens of Cary with unwavering commitment.
