Ahmed Basic Obituary, STAMFORD, Conn. — Ahmed Basic, an 18-year-old Stamford resident, died Tuesday night after being seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on High Ridge Road, according to Stamford police.
Basic was riding a 2000 BMW 1150 motorcycle northbound on High Ridge Road with an 18-year-old Stamford resident as a passenger. Police said the motorcycle collided with a 2024 Toyota RAV4 that was attempting to turn from the southbound side of High Ridge Road onto Loveland Road.
The crash left Basic with life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Stamford Hospital for treatment following the collision.
Basic was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital at approximately 9:50 p.m., according to police. He was 18 years old.
The motorcycle’s passenger was thrown during the impact and suffered serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said. The passenger was also identified as an 18-year-old Stamford resident.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain part of the investigation. Police have not provided additional details regarding what led to the crash or whether any citations or charges have been issued.
