BAKERSFIELD, Calif. Accident Update — Vanessa and her two daughters, Kloie and Kylie, were killed in a three-vehicle crash near Bakersfield, California, while the family was returning home from a concert, according to multiple reports.
The crash happened at about 12:45 a.m. Monday near Bakersfield, ABC7 reported. Three vehicles were involved in the collision, with one vehicle traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of the highway before crashing into two other vehicles.
Vanessa and her daughters were traveling in a Honda Accord when the crash occurred. The vehicle caught fire following the collision, and all three women died at the scene, according to reports.
A GoFundMe fundraiser identified the victims as Vanessa, Kloie and Kylie. The family had traveled to Fresno for a concert to celebrate Kloie’s upcoming 17th birthday.
Kloie’s birthday was scheduled for Aug. 20, according to the fundraising page. Vanessa also leaves behind a son, who shares the same birthday as Kloie.
The crash has left the family and those who knew the victims mourning the loss of a mother and her two daughters. The family’s trip to celebrate Kloie’s birthday ended in a fatal collision as they were making their way home.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are working to determine which vehicle was traveling the wrong way and whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
