Beth Ann (Porter) Clark Obituary, STURBRIDGE, Mass. — Beth Ann (Porter) Clark, born June 16, 1959, passed away on September 25, 2026, according to an obituary published by Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home in Southbridge. She was remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, educator, friend, and faithful Catholic whose life was centered on family, education, and helping others.
Beth was born in Toledo, Ohio, and spent much of her childhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She later earned a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania before making Sturbridge, Massachusetts, her home for the final 20 years of her life.
Education was an important part of Beth’s life and legacy. She worked as an enrichment teacher at Burgess Elementary School, where she formed meaningful connections with the students she taught. Her passion for education was inspired in part by her mother, and she dedicated herself to helping young people throughout her career.
Those who knew Beth remembered her for her selfless and loving nature, her sense of humor, and her ability to make people smile. She developed close friendships that became like family and remained an important part of her daily life. Her obituary described her as someone who was there not only for her own family and friends but also for anyone in need.
Above all, Beth treasured her family. She leaves behind her sons, Andrew J. Clark of Sturbridge and Jacob P. Clark and his wife, Kristin, of Northborough; her daughter, Hannah D. Trombley and her husband, Nathan, of Fiskdale; her brother, Robert J. Porter and his wife, Chris, of Toledo, Ohio; and her sisters, Mary Carolyn Porter of Sturbridge and Susan R. Jeffries and her husband, Merle, of Swanton, Ohio.
She also leaves behind five grandchildren: John Clark, Myla Trombley, Levi Trombley, Maci Trombley, and Cleo Trombley, along with many nieces and nephews. Her family was described as her greatest joy, with her happiest moments spent with her children and grandchildren. She was known for telling them, “I love you to the moon and back.”
Beth was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Anne and St. Patrick’s Parish in Fiskdale. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, James R. Porter and Mary (Bayer) Porter.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Her funeral will take place Saturday, October 3, with a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Church, 16 Church St., Sturbridge. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne and St. Patrick Parish, 16 Church St., Fiskdale, Massachusetts. Beth Clark’s memory will remain with the family, students, friends, and community members whose lives she touched.
