Delta College Accident Update — A minor died Tuesday afternoon, September 22, 2026, after becoming trapped underneath a vehicle during a vehicle repair incident in a parking lot at Delta College.
According to a statement released by Delta College staff, the individual was not a Delta College student and had been on campus assisting his girlfriend with repairs to her vehicle.
The incident occurred earlier Tuesday afternoon while work was being carried out on the vehicle. Based on information available to the college, the vehicle was being supported by a jack when the jack collapsed, trapping the individual underneath the car.
Emergency responders were called to the scene and attempted to free the individual from beneath the vehicle. Despite those efforts, he died as a result of the incident.
Following the incident, Delta College notified students and members of the campus community. The college said the notification was intended to make students aware of support resources, particularly for those who may have witnessed the incident, known the individual, or otherwise been affected by what happened.
