Edgar L. Hampton Jr. Obituary, MCCONNELLSVILLE, Ohio — Edgar L. Hampton Jr., 65, of McConnelsville, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at his residence.
Hampton was born June 12, 1961, in Nelsonville, Ohio. He was the son of the late Edgar L. Hampton Sr. and Ruth E. Judson Hampton.
He is survived by his son, Edgar L. (Terri) Hampton III of Texas, along with his grandchildren Alexis, Destiny, Tony, Cameron, Samuel, Austin, and Charlie.
Hampton is also survived by his sisters, Debbie (Lee) Newburn of Chesterhill, Linda (Randy Sr.) Campbell of McConnelsville, and Gina (Anees) Khan of Circleville. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Dee Hampton of Lancaster, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Hampton was preceded in death by his two brothers, David Hampton and Gary Hampton.
A funeral service for Hampton will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville, with Pastor Mike Wells officiating. Visitation will take place Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Morgan County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio 45732, to assist with final expenses. Messages of comfort may be sent to the family through Morrison Funeral Chapel’s website.
