Jennifer Smith Obituary, GLADWIN COUNTY, Mich. — Jennifer Smith, 54, of Flint, Michigan, died Monday evening, August 24, 2026, after a serious two-vehicle collision on Round Lake Road in Sherman Township.
According to the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called at approximately 7:50 p.m. to a reported personal injury crash on Round Lake Road, about one-half mile south of Pleasant View Drive. The preliminary investigation indicated that Smith was traveling southbound in a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado when it collided head-on with a northbound 2015 Toyota Avalon near a curved section of the roadway.
Despite efforts by first responders, Smith succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another individual involved in the crash sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by helicopter for medical treatment.
Several emergency agencies responded to the scene, including the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office, Gladwin City Police Department, Butman Township Fire & Rescue, MyMichigan Ambulance Service medical personnel, and an accident reconstructionist from the Michigan State Police. The roadway remained closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. Authorities have indicated that the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and completed reports are expected to be forwarded to the Gladwin County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
