Karlie Haycraft Obituary, MEADE COUNTY, Ky. — Karlie Haycraft, 29, has died following a head-on crash in Meade County early Sunday, September 20. Haycraft was traveling with her boyfriend, Trenton Thomas, 26, when the vehicle they were in was struck in the collision. Both Karlie and Trenton died at the scene.
According to the preliminary police investigation, Karlie and Trenton were traveling on Old Mill Road in a Ford Fusion when a vehicle driven by Isaac Jenkins, 26, crossed the center line and struck their car. Jenkins survived the crash and was flown to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the collision remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash beyond the preliminary findings. The deaths of Karlie and Trenton have left their families, friends and community members mourning their sudden loss.
Karlie is remembered by her family for the bright smile she brought into a room and the fierce love she gave to her daughters, JoLee and Lily. Those who knew her remember her as a mother who loved and protected her children through everything.
