Laderrick Jones Obituary, JACKSON, Tenn. — Laderrick Jones, 24, died after being shot multiple times Monday afternoon on North Highland Avenue in Jackson, Tennessee, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Jackson police officers were dispatched at approximately 12:27 p.m. to 2018 North Highland Avenue following a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Jones in a parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Jones was transported to a local hospital in critical condition for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he later died from the injuries he sustained in the shooting.
Following the shooting, investigators with the Jackson Police Department’s Major Crimes Division worked throughout Monday to identify the individuals involved. Police said an adult suspect surrendered to authorities at approximately 9 p.m. Monday.
Later that night, investigators located a juvenile suspect, who was also taken into custody. Authorities said all parties involved in the incident are currently in custody.
Jackson police have not released additional details about what led to the shooting or disclosed the identities of the suspects. JPD Chief Thom Corley praised the responding officers and Major Crimes Division investigators for their work in identifying and locating those involved.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, and authorities said additional information may be released as investigators continue their work.
