Luke Sherashenkov, Gennadii Kretov and Danny Kravtsov Obituary, SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Luke Sherashenkov, 15, Gennadii Kretov, 19, and Danny Kravtsov, 17, have died following a fiery vehicle crash early Saturday morning, August 15, in the Mayo community of Spartanburg County.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified all three victims after their identities were scientifically confirmed through dental records. Coroner Rusty Clevenger said the victims’ next of kin were notified following the identification process.
Sherashenkov, 15, was from Burns Road in Spartanburg and had recently celebrated his birthday, according to authorities. Kretov, 19, and Kravtsov, 17, were both from Sherbert Court in Spartanburg. Authorities identified Kravtsov as the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash.
The fatal crash occurred near Jennings Road and Highway 221 in the Mayo community, close to Deb’s Mini Mart. According to authorities, the vehicle had reportedly fled from law enforcement near the Carlisle Crossing area earlier that morning before later crashing and becoming engulfed in flames.
All three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, their times of death were recorded at approximately 2:14 a.m. on August 15.
The severe fire that engulfed the vehicle required authorities to use dental records to confirm the identities of the victims. The Coroner’s Office said additional testing is being conducted to determine the specific cause of death for each of the three young men.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the events that preceded the vehicle leaving the Carlisle Crossing area. Authorities have not yet released additional conclusions as the investigation and remaining forensic examinations continue.
The deaths of Sherashenkov, Kretov and Kravtsov mark the loss of three young lives in a tragic Spartanburg County crash. Their identities have now been confirmed and their families notified, while authorities continue working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
