Maxwell Roeland Obituary, SENECA FALLS, N.Y. — Maxwell Roeland, a 24-year-old resident of Newark, died after being seriously injured in a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck Saturday afternoon in the Town of Seneca Falls, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred at approximately 1:24 p.m. at the intersection of County House Road and Bauer Road. Seneca Falls police responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the intersection.
Roeland was riding the motorcycle when the collision occurred. Police said he was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries in the crash. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment, but he later died from his injuries.
According to investigators, the pickup truck was traveling eastbound on County House Road when its 34-year-old driver, a man from Waterloo, attempted to turn left onto Bauer Road. During the turn, the pickup truck collided with Roeland’s motorcycle.
The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries in the collision but did not require transportation to a hospital, authorities said. No additional injuries were reported in the information released by police.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash remain under investigation. Police have not released information regarding possible citations or charges against the pickup truck driver, and investigators have not indicated whether any further enforcement action will be taken.
