Rodney Leon Mills Obituary, DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — Rodney Leon Mills, 28, of Greensboro, North Carolina, has died following injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred Thursday night at approximately 9 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-85. Mills was driving the vehicle when the crash occurred and suffered injuries. Despite efforts to save him, the 28-year-old was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
Also traveling in the vehicle was 33-year-old Shanice Francene Goode, also of Greensboro. Goode was seated in the front passenger seat and suffered serious injuries in the crash. She was transported to a hospital for treatment, with her injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening.
Police reported that both occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision. Virginia State Police said speed is considered a factor in the crash, while the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
