Destiney Gonzalez Obituary, BOISE, Idaho — Destiney Gonzalez, 22, of Caldwell, Idaho, was fatally shot during a drive-by shooting at a Boise residence early Sunday morning, Aug. 30, 2026, according to authorities.
Gonzalez was found suffering from a gunshot wound on the front porch of a residence in the 3900 block of West Clement Road. Boise Police Department officers and Boise Fire Department crews responded shortly before 6 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting victim.
When officers arrived, Gonzalez was located on the front porch with apparent gunshot injuries. Boise Fire personnel and Ada County paramedics immediately began life-saving efforts, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said no other injuries were reported in connection with the shooting.
According to investigators, a party was taking place at the residence when an unknown suspect drove past the home in a sedan-style vehicle and fired multiple shots toward the house. The residence was reportedly being used as a short-term vacation rental at the time.
Boise Police Violent Crimes detectives said evidence gathered during the investigation indicates that Gonzalez was not the intended target. Investigators believe the suspect may have been targeting the party itself or one or more people attending the gathering.
Detectives are continuing efforts to determine who the intended target may have been and identify the person responsible for the shooting. Authorities are following up on leads and reviewing information provided by witnesses and members of the public.
