Carl Louie Williams Obituary, HARDIN COUNTY, Texas — Carl Louie Williams, 32, of Silsbee, was killed Thursday morning after a garbage truck veered off Cravy Lane and overturned, landing on him.
The crash happened at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Cravy Lane, just east of FM 418 outside Silsbee, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Williams was riding on the exterior left side of the garbage truck when the vehicle left the roadway.
According to authorities, the garbage truck veered into a north ditch before overturning onto its left side. Williams was thrown from the truck during the crash and suffered fatal injuries.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the crash resulted in a fatal incident that claimed the life of the 32-year-old Silsbee resident.
The driver of the garbage truck was identified as 31-year-old Keonia Owens of Beaumont. Owens was not injured in the crash, and authorities reported no other injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the circumstances that caused the garbage truck to leave the roadway. Officials have not released additional details about what led to the vehicle veering into the ditch.
