Billy E. Colwell Obituary, SHARON, Pa. — Billy E. Colwell, 24, of Sharon, Pennsylvania, has died after being struck by a crossbow arrow in an incident that remains under investigation.
According to the Sharon Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday to the 200 block of South Myers Avenue after receiving reports that a man had been struck by a crossbow arrow. When officers arrived, they found Colwell suffering from critical injuries.
Emergency responders provided assistance at the scene before Colwell was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Mercer County Coroner John Libonati confirmed that Colwell’s fatal injuries were caused by a crossbow arrow. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident, and investigators continue working to establish what happened.
The investigation is being conducted by the Sharon Police Department in cooperation with the Mercer County Coroner’s Office. At this time, officials have not announced any arrests or charges in connection with Colwell’s death.
