Brandon Miller Obituary, MORROW COUNTY, Ohio — Brandon Miller, 38, of Columbus, was killed late Thursday night, September 24, 2026, after he was struck by a northbound SUV while standing in the northbound lanes of Interstate 71 in Morrow County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened at approximately 10:23 p.m. near milepost 147 on I-71 in Harmony Township. Troopers said Miller was standing in the roadway when he was struck by a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse traveling northbound.
The SUV was driven by 42-year-old Brandon Diguilio of North Ridgeville. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Diguilio remained at the scene following the crash and was not injured.
Morrow County EMS responded to the scene, where Miller was pronounced dead. Several agencies also assisted with the aftermath, including the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Big Walnut Joint Fire District, Morrow County Fire Department, Prosecutor’s Office and Coroner.
Miller’s death has left his family and loved ones grieving the sudden loss of a 38-year-old Columbus resident whose life ended unexpectedly on the highway. Details about his career, personal accomplishments and other aspects of his life were not provided.
The circumstances that led to Miller being in the northbound lanes remain unclear. Authorities have not released an explanation for why he was standing in the roadway at the time of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
