Dallan Walker Sweebe Obituary, MIDLAND COUNTY, Mich. — Dallan Walker Sweebe, 27, of the City of Midland, Michigan, has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Homer Township.
The fatal crash occurred Monday, October 5, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m. on East Isabella Road (M-20), east of North Homer Road in Homer Township, according to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Sweebe was driving a 2024 Toyota Corolla westbound on East Isabella Road when his vehicle rear-ended a 2026 International school bus. The school bus was being driven by a 73-year-old man from Saginaw.
Sweebe was transported by EMS to MyMichigan Medical Center – Midland with serious, life-threatening injuries. He was later flown to the University of Michigan Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Multiple people were aboard the school bus at the time of the crash. Some reported minor injuries but declined evaluation and treatment at the scene. No additional serious injuries were reported in the sheriff’s office statement.
The investigation remains ongoing. Toxicology results are pending to determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. Once the investigation is completed, a final report will be submitted to the Midland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The Midland County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Homer Township Fire Department, MyMichigan EMS, Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, Midland County Road Commission and Coles Wrecker Service.
The Midland County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to Sweebe’s family and friends following his death. His passing has left those who knew him mourning the loss of a 27-year-old Midland resident whose life was cut short following the October 5 crash.
