David Grodnick Obituary: Montgomery Township, New Jersey – Family Remembered After Tragic Deaths at Home

David Grodnick Obituary, MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — David Grodnick, 61, his wife, Lora Grodnick, 62, and their daughter, Sloane Grodnick, 24, have died following a tragic incident at the family’s home in Montgomery Township, New Jersey.

Police were dispatched to a residence on Wild Azalea Lane shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday after receiving a request for a welfare check. Officers who arrived at the home discovered all three family members deceased inside the residence.

According to authorities, Lora Grodnick and Sloane Grodnick were found in separate bedrooms, while David Grodnick was found elsewhere in the home. Investigators determined that all three had suffered gunshot wounds.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office ruled the deaths of Lora and Sloane Grodnick as homicides and David Grodnick’s death as a suicide. Authorities said the incident appeared to have been isolated to the family and that there was no ongoing threat to the public.

David Grodnick was known professionally as a senior executive in the insurance industry. He reportedly served as a senior vice president and underwriting counsel for a Philadelphia-based commercial real estate insurance agency, building a career in the field over many years.

The Grodnick family had longstanding ties to the area and reportedly lived in Princeton before moving to Montgomery Township. Their deaths have prompted an outpouring of grief among friends, acquaintances, colleagues and community members who knew the family.

Sloane Grodnick, 24, was pursuing graduate studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she was working toward a master’s degree and developing her interests in the arts. Friends and classmates have mourned the loss of a young woman whose life and future held considerable promise.

Lora Grodnick is also being remembered by family members, friends and others who knew her. As the community continues to process the deaths, condolences have been extended to those affected by the tragedy.
