David Mora Obituary, SANTA PAULA, Calif. — David Mora, a 29-year-old Santa Paula resident, has died following an eight-vehicle collision in Oxnard on Friday, September 25, 2026. His death has left those who knew him mourning a life that ended suddenly.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Doris Avenue. Mora was driving a 2018 GMC Sierra northbound on Victoria Avenue when investigators said he ran a red light and collided with a 1998 Toyota Avalon and a 2005 Honda Civic traveling westbound on a green light.
The collision triggered a chain reaction involving a total of eight vehicles. Two other men, ages 31 and 58, both from Oxnard, were also killed in the crash, according to police. Four additional people sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Investigators have identified speed and possible impairment involving alcohol and/or drugs as contributing factors in the collision. However, the investigation remains ongoing, and toxicological and technical evaluations had not been completed in the latest available report. No formal charges had been announced at that time.
