Emma Anne Hill Obituary, EMIGRATION CANYON, Utah — Emma Anne Hill, 25, of Emigration Canyon, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2026. She was the beloved firstborn daughter of Casey and Kysha Hill and was remembered for the love, joy, and friendship she shared with everyone around her.
Emma was born on December 16, 2000, with a congenital heart defect caused by a chromosomal deletion known as 22q11. At the time of her birth, doctors believed the severity of her condition could limit her life expectancy to less than a month. With the help of medical professionals, faith, prayers, and the support of many people, Emma overcame those early challenges and continued fighting for nearly 26 years.
Throughout her life, Emma faced significant health challenges, including multiple lifesaving heart surgeries, severe scoliosis, poor lung function, heart failure, developmental disabilities, and mental health challenges. Despite the difficulties she experienced, she showed determination and a strong desire to live life fully, bringing happiness and inspiration to the people who knew and loved her.
Emma’s family shared that one of her greatest legacies was the way she built friendships. She had a unique ability to make people feel valued and cared for, often reaching out through texts and phone calls to check on others, celebrate their accomplishments, offer encouragement, or simply spend time together. Her kindness and willingness to connect with others created lasting relationships throughout her life.
She grew up surrounded by a loving family, including her parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Emma especially cherished her siblings, Porter, Claire, Adam, and Jane, finding happiness in hearing about their experiences, friendships, adventures, and accomplishments. Their lives brought her great joy, and she celebrated their moments as if they were her own.
Emma found meaning in many simple and treasured moments. She enjoyed music, spending time with her dogs, visits from family and friends, and special morning drives with her father. She also shared memorable experiences with her family, including trips to the ocean and beaches, walks among the redwoods, and visits to lakes and mountains.
The family expressed deep gratitude for the doctors, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and hospice professionals who supported Emma throughout her life. Their compassion, patience, and dedication became an important part of Emma’s journey and provided comfort and care during many difficult moments.
Emma’s family said her life taught them lessons about faith, hope, courage, gratitude, and the importance of loving others. In the final months of her life, Emma was able to express affection and connection in ways that were especially meaningful to her family, including giving warm hugs and sharing expressions of love. They find comfort in believing she is now at peace and free from pain.
Emma is survived by her parents, Casey and Kysha Hill; her siblings, Porter, Claire, Adam, and Jane; her extended family; and her best friend, Nanny Jane. Her family will continue to honor her memory by remembering the lessons she taught about kindness, relationships, courage, and unconditional love.
