Their deaths came after a collision involving multiple vehicles on eastbound I-16 near mile marker 143.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, troopers responded to the crash at approximately 2:10 p.m. after receiving an initial report of an unresponsive person. The preliminary investigation determined that a 2017 Ford F-250 traveling in the right lane struck the rear of a stopped 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer.
The impact pushed the Kenworth into a 2015 Mack tractor-trailer, which had also stopped due to construction ahead. Four juveniles traveling in the Ford were transported to a hospital in Savannah with life-threatening injuries.

The practice provided direct primary care services along with aesthetic treatments, including Botox, dermal fillers and other procedures. Office manager Deanna Fountain shared a message of sympathy with patients and others connected to the medical spa following Matthews’ passing.
