Jack R. Johnson Obituary, ANGELS CAMP, Calif. — Jack R. Johnson, 84, has died, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to his family, service to his community, and meaningful relationships with friends, neighbors, and those he mentored throughout his life.
Jack was deeply devoted to his wife, Ruth Johnson, as well as his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and neighbors. His family and community knew him through the many roles he embraced throughout his life, including husband, father, grandfather, teacher, mentor, mayor, and church elder.
He was also remembered for his distinctive personality and ability to connect with others. Jack had a way of keeping people busy with a small favor or drawing them into one of his well-known “if-you-got-a-minute” stories, moments that became part of the memories shared by those who knew him.
Jack leaves behind Ruth, his sons Jeff, Mike, and Joe, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and community members. His relationships with those around him reflected the importance he placed on family, friendship, service, and community.
Throughout his years of service, Jack contributed to the community through the various responsibilities he accepted. His work as a teacher, mentor, mayor, and church elder allowed him to serve others in different ways and build lasting connections with people around him.
Those who knew Jack will remember the kindness and dedication he showed throughout his life. The community and family relationships he helped shape will remain part of the legacy he leaves behind.
A service honoring Jack’s life will be held at Vine and Branch Church, 3710 Whittle Rd., Angels Camp, California 95222, on August 28, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Libertas Academy or Vine and Branch Fellowship.
Jack R. Johnson will be remembered for the love, service, and devotion he gave to his wife, family, church, and community. His memory will continue through the family members, friends, neighbors, and others whose lives he touched throughout his 84 years.
