James Goodmote Obituary: Rootstown, Ohio – 73-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies After Route 212 Crash

James Goodmote Obituary, ROOTSTOWN, Ohio — James Goodmote, 73, of Rootstown, died Saturday, August 29, following a motorcycle crash on Route 212 in Warren Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. east of Tabor Ridge Road. Goodmote was traveling east on his motorcycle when a westbound Honda Civic crossed the center line and struck the motorcycle.

Goodmote was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision prompted an emergency response, with law enforcement and other emergency personnel working at the scene following the fatal crash.

The driver of the Honda Civic, 32-year-old Corey Fisher of Dover, was seriously injured in the collision and transported to Aultman Hospital for treatment. Route 212 remained closed for approximately three and a half hours while emergency crews responded and authorities worked through the aftermath.

In an account published Sunday, August 30, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said impairment was suspected as a possible factor in the crash. That information remains part of the ongoing investigation and does not represent a final determination regarding the circumstances of the collision.
