Logan C. Stone Obituary, FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Logan C. Stone, an 85-year-old Fairfield Township resident, died early Sunday, August 30, 2026, after sustaining critical injuries in a serious motor vehicle crash on Millikin Road the previous afternoon.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:53 p.m. Saturday, August 29, near Greatus Drive. According to information released by the Fairfield Township Police Department, officers were traveling eastbound on Millikin Road with their emergency lights and sirens activated while responding to a dispatched emergency involving an unconscious person.
Police said the responding cruisers remained within their eastbound lane as they approached Greatus Drive. Several westbound motorists slowed and moved as far to the right within their lane as conditions allowed to provide room for the emergency vehicles.
Among those westbound motorists was Stone, who was driving a gray 2019 Acura RDX. His wife, 85-year-old Donna B. Stone, was seated in the front passenger seat. A gray 2016 Lincoln Navigator operated by 43-year-old Trent D. McFadden of Liberty Township was also traveling westbound.
According to police, the Lincoln Navigator struck the rear of the Acura RDX. The impact caused Stone’s vehicle to spin before coming to rest in a residential yard on the north side of Millikin Road. The Lincoln Navigator continued through several yards before stopping in the driveway of another residence.
Fairfield Township EMS and Liberty Township EMS responded to the crash and transported Stone, Donna Stone, and McFadden to UC West Chester Hospital for treatment. During a follow-up visit, a Fairfield Township police officer learned that Donna Stone and McFadden were stable and receiving medical care, while Logan Stone remained in critical condition.
Because of the severity of his injuries, Stone was later transported by air to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati. Despite the medical efforts, he died at approximately 4:30 a.m. Sunday, August 30.
Stone’s death has left his family, friends, neighbors, and others in the Fairfield Township community grieving. His passing represents a profound loss for those who knew him, while his loved ones now face the difficult days of mourning following the unexpected tragedy.
Police reported that all three occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and airbags deployed in the Lincoln Navigator. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation, and authorities have not released a final determination regarding its cause or fault.
As the Fairfield Township Police Department continues its investigation, additional information may be released as it becomes available.
