Kimberly Akers and Andrea Conn Obituary, MARTIN, Ky. — Kimberly Akers and Andrea Conn died Tuesday morning, September 29, 2026, following a three-vehicle crash on Kentucky Route 80 in the Martin community of Floyd County, according to Kentucky State Police.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 8:27 a.m. when Akers was driving a 2017 Chevrolet SUV eastbound on KY 80. According to the preliminary investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 9, Akers’ vehicle crossed the median and collided with a 2024 Mazda SUV driven by Conn.

The impact caused Conn’s Mazda to continue into the path of a 2017 Ford van operated by Caleb Sizemore, resulting in the three-vehicle collision. Akers and Conn both sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

The Floyd County Coroner’s Office pronounced both women dead at the scene. Sizemore was also involved in the collision as the driver of the Ford van, but Kentucky State Police have not released additional information about his condition.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Kentucky State Police Accident Reconstructionist Detective Matthew Smith is leading the investigation, with assistance from personnel from KSP Post 9 and other local first responder agencies.
