Kyler Hooper Obituary: Muskingum County, Ohio – Zanesville Man Killed in Fatal Vehicle Crash

Kyler L. Hooper Obituary, MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio — Kyler L. Hooper, 25, of Zanesville, Ohio, was killed early Saturday morning, August 29, 2026, after a vehicle crashed into a tree in Falls Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. on County Road 2 near Plantation Drive. According to the preliminary investigation, 24-year-old William L. Whyde III of Dresden was driving a 2021 Mercedes northbound on County Road 2 when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Three people were inside the Mercedes at the time of the crash. The passengers were identified as Hooper and 27-year-old Hallie D. Kimble of Nashport. Hooper suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Muskingum County Coroner.

Whyde and Kimble survived the crash and were transported to Genesis Hospital in Zanesville for treatment. Their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

Emergency crews from Falls Township EMS and Fire, the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and Genesis EMS responded to the scene and assisted with the emergency response following the collision.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Authorities have not released additional information explaining why the Mercedes left the roadway, and no cause has been confirmed at this time.

Kyler L. Hooper’s death has left his community mourning the loss of a 25-year-old Zanesville man whose life was cut short in the early-morning collision. Further details regarding funeral or memorial arrangements were not provided, as the investigation continues.
