Marcos Villarreal, Sr. Obituary: Pampa, Texas – Beloved Father and Free-Spirited Pampa Resident Remembered After Passing

Marcos Villarreal, Sr. Obituary, PAMPA, Texas — Marcos Villarreal, Sr., 35, of Pampa, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Amarillo, with his family by his side. He was born on August 25, 1991, in Pampa and spent most of his life in the community where he was raised.

Marcos was born to Gilbert Villarreal, Jr. and Jamie Kells and was raised by his grandparents, Gilbert Villarreal, Sr., and his wife, Tina. He attended school in Pampa and remained closely connected to the community throughout much of his life.

After completing school, Marcos traveled extensively and embraced what his family described as a free-spirited life. A wanderer at heart, he worked several different jobs as a young man before finding employment with Texas HazMat, where he found the work interesting and appreciated the variety that each day brought.

Outside of work, music was an important part of Marcos’ life. He enjoyed all genres and could find something to appreciate in virtually every type of music. He was also known for his sense of humor and was often the jokester among his family and friends.

Marcos loved his family, especially his children, and was known as someone people could turn to when they needed help. His family remembered him as a generous, kind and giving man who was always willing to be there for others.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Victor and Consuleo Villarreal; his cousin, Kolby William; and many other cousins. He is survived by his children, Marcos Villarreal, Jr. of Perryton, Alexa Villarreal of Pampa, and Lilly Villarreal of Pampa, along with his parents and grandparents, siblings, numerous cousins and other extended family members.

Viewing will be held from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Carpenters Church, with Pastor Jim Sinyard officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. Marcos Villarreal, Sr. will be remembered by his children, family and friends for his humor, kindness, generosity and free-spirited nature.
