Sergio Quintero, Alexander Aldaco and Junior Perez Obituary, HOUSTON COUNTY, Texas — Sergio Quintero, Alexander Aldaco and Junior Perez of Crockett died after a boat overturned on a private lake in Houston County on Sunday night, September 20, 2026, prompting an overnight search and recovery operation involving multiple emergency agencies.
According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, the boating accident was reported at approximately 8:06 p.m. after a 911 call alerted authorities to the incident. Four people were fishing from the boat when the vessel overturned, sending all four occupants into the water.
One of the men, identified as Juan Hernandez of Crockett, was able to swim safely to shore. The other three occupants, Quintero, Aldaco and Perez, were unable to reach shore and were reported missing as emergency crews began searching the private lake.
Houston County sheriff’s deputies and investigators coordinated the search with assistance from the Grapeland Fire Department, Houston County Search and Rescue, Crockett Police Department and Texas Game Wardens. The Huntsville Fire Department Dive Team was also requested to assist in locating the missing men.
The first missing victim was located at approximately 7:45 a.m. on September 21 and was identified as Sergio Quintero of Crockett. Search crews later located a second victim, identified as Alexander Aldaco, also of Crockett.
At approximately 9:15 a.m., search crews located the final missing person, Junior Perez of Crockett. Authorities confirmed that all four people involved in the boating incident were from Crockett.
Officials said the incident appears to have been a tragic boating accident and that no foul play is suspected. The investigation has been turned over to the Texas Game Wardens, who will continue examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of Quintero, Aldaco and Perez while also thanking the agencies and personnel who participated in the overnight search and recovery operation.
