William “Billy” Carpenter Obituary, VALLEJO, Calif. — Retired Vallejo Police Department Detective William “Billy” Carpenter has died, prompting condolences from the department, former colleagues, friends, and members of the Vallejo community he served for 13 years.
Carpenter was a native of Vallejo and dedicated his law enforcement career to serving the community where he grew up. During his 13 years with the Vallejo Police Department, he served in several important roles, including Field Training Officer, SWAT team member, and Major Crimes Detective.
As a Major Crimes Detective, Carpenter was described by the department as a skilled and respected investigator who played an important role in investigating and solving serious and violent crimes. His work reflected a long commitment to public service and to the community he called home.
Beyond his investigative responsibilities, Carpenter was also remembered as a trusted partner and mentor. He shared his knowledge and experience with colleagues and helped those working alongside him develop their skills throughout their careers.
Carpenter had recently retired from the Vallejo Police Department. The department noted that his retirement was sadly far too brief, as his passing came not long after he concluded his service.
