Christopher Ludden Obituary: Cartrontroy, Athlone, Westmeath – Beloved Husband Remembered After Passing Following Short Illness

Christopher (Chris) Ludden Obituary, CARTRONTROY, Athlone, Westmeath — Christopher (Chris) Ludden of Cartrontroy, Athlone, Westmeath, has passed away peacefully in September 2026 at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore following a short illness. He was in the company of his loving wife, Lyandra, at the time of his passing.

Chris is deeply missed by his heartbroken wife, Lyandra (Sheriff), his mother, Bernie, and his brother, Shane. He is also mourned by his parents-in-law, Dermot and Linda Sheriff; his brother-in-law, Craig and his wife, Catherine (Fox); as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and many friends.

His passing has left a deep sense of loss among those who knew him and were close to him. His family has remembered Chris with affection, describing his soul as kind and gentle as they mourn his death.

Lyandra has expressed her gratitude for the care and support Chris received during his illness. She specifically acknowledged the outstanding staff at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for the exceptional care and support provided to him during his final days.

She also extended her thanks to the staff at St. James’s Hospital in Dublin for their care and assistance during Chris’s illness.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. The family has requested that their home remain strictly private during this difficult time. They have also asked that no flowers be sent, with donations instead welcomed, if desired, to a charity of the donor’s choice.
