Jayleen Hinton and Kyreic Walker Obituary, LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Jayleen Hinton and Kyreic Walker, both 18-year-old residents of Lancaster, South Carolina, have died following a fatal vehicle crash Wednesday evening along Pineview Drive in Lancaster County.
The crash occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Elgin area of Lancaster County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Hinton and Walker were traveling together in a 2003 Saturn Ion when the vehicle was involved in the deadly collision.
According to investigators, the Saturn was traveling eastbound on Pineview Drive when it reportedly attempted to pass another vehicle. The vehicle subsequently left the roadway on the right side and struck several trees.
Emergency crews responded to the crash site following the collision. Both Hinton and Walker were found with fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the vehicle leaving the roadway or the attempted passing maneuver. Officials also have not confirmed whether speed, weather conditions, impairment or another factor played a role in the crash.
